
Last Thursday, a DUI incident disrupted the solemn peace of Colma's Japanese Cemetery. According to a social media post by the Colma Police Department, officers were called to the scene at the intersection of Hillside Boulevard and F Street following a report of a vehicle accident occurring around 2:04 AM.
Upon arrival, law enforcement found a gray Acura had bulldozed its way through the cemetery's fence the male driver along with a female passenger were seen standing outside the wrecked car, Caius Stevens the 28-year-old who was at the wheel from San Francisco, admitted to his role in the collision. The Colma Police Department noted Stevens exhibited signs of intoxication as they detected "the distinct odor of an alcoholic beverage emanating from his person" and noted he displayed "the objective signs of being under the influence of an alcoholic beverage."
Stevens sustained minor injuries in the crash and was subsequently taken to a local hospital. It was there that he was arrested and cited for driving under the influence. Stevens was later released into the care of the hospital staff.
