On Tuesday, the San Francisco Police Department responded to a report of gunfire on Geneva Avenue, making a significant breakthrough in a series of shooting incidents with the arrest of a suspect previously linked to similar cases. After responding to a shot spotter activation, officers found a residence damaged from the apparent shooting, and, thankfully, there were no injuries reported in the incident.
A suspect has been apprehended following three separate shooting events in the city, with police piecing together evidence leading to the arrest of Enhao Lin, 39, of Alameda. Investigators from the Crime Gun Investigator Center (CCIG), as well as officers from the Violence Reduction Initiative (VRT), searched Lin’s residence after observing him leave his home. This led to his arrest and the seizure of firearms and controlled substances. He was then booked into the county jail on a myriad of charges.
According to the San Francisco Police Department, Lin faces charges for shooting at inhabited dwellings, assault with a semi-automatic firearm, being a felon in possession of a firearm, possession of a controlled substance while armed, and unlawful possession of a controlled substance. Officers located two firearms inside Lin's home, which are now being held as evidence as part of the ongoing investigation.
