
Last Wednesday, Berkeley Police Department's Bike Team apprehended a 38-year-old San Leandro man after he was reportedly seen engaging in a lewd act near Berkeley High School. According to a social media post from the Berkeley Police Department, the incident occurred at approximately 4:45 PM, and officers responded swiftly to the scene.
The situation unfolded when a Berkeley High School safety officer, on patrol along Bancroft Way, encountered the suspect, identified as Folusho Otti. In an alarming turn, she discovered Otti in his vehicle "seat reclined with his pants open/unzipped and pornography playing on his cellphone," as described in a report by KRON4. She screamed and immediately contacted 911, precipitating the quick response from the bike team.
The location of the suspect's vehicle was about 100 yards from the high school's entrance, ratcheting up the concern from both law enforcement and the community. The suspect, Otti, now faces charges that include indecent exposure and committing a lewd act in a public place as a result of the incident.
