Over two years after a woman was shot in the face at an apartment on Nolensville Pike, 32-year-old Daniel Maradiaga-Hernandez has been arrested and charged with attempted murder. According to Metro Nashville & Davidson County, the 39-year-old victim was shot at close range in the early morning of June 9, 2023, after asking Maradiaga-Hernandez to leave her apartment.

Maradiaga-Hernandez initially evaded capture in Miami, Florida, where he had fled, based on social media activity. After returning to Nashville, information from Detective Abigail Malone of the Non-Lethal Shooting Section of the Specialized Investigations Division was provided to TITANS Unit detectives, who located him in a grocery store parking lot off Dickerson Pike. He was in possession of a Glock .380 pistol, the same caliber used in the 2023 shooting.

Detective Malone used social media information indicating Maradiaga-Hernandez’s return from Florida. The Nashville government reports that this information allowed local law enforcement to coordinate and carry out the arrest without incident.

The case has progressed with Maradiaga-Hernandez in custody, and his bond has been set at $151,000. The investigation began after the victim was shot following a confrontation and continued during the search for the suspect, leading to his arrest and the start of legal proceedings.
