
A 17-year-old girl was shot inside a home in Chicago’s Roseland neighborhood on Sunday afternoon, adding to a bruising weekend of gun violence on the Far South Side. Police said the teen was hit in the left leg and taken to Christ Hospital, where she was reported to be in fair condition. The shooter has not been identified, and Area Two detectives are handling the case.
According to FOX 32 Chicago, the gunfire rang out around 3:14 p.m. inside a residence in Roseland. Chicago police provided the initial details and, as of the latest update, had not announced any arrests.
Roseland Sees More Weekend Violence
The shooting came on the heels of another violent incident in the neighborhood that left a teenage boy dead. As reported by ABC7 Chicago, a 15-year-old was shot around 12:38 p.m. Saturday in the 9200 block of South LaSalle Street. He was rushed to Christ Hospital in critical condition and later died, turning what began as a busy weekend afternoon into another tragedy for Roseland families.
Investigation Remains Active
Police have not released a description of a suspect or any possible motive in Sunday’s shooting, and no additional details were immediately shared, according to FOX 32 Chicago. Area Two detectives continue to investigate, and officials have not provided further updates as they processed the scene and worked to piece together what led to the gunfire inside the home.
