A 15-year-old girl was arrested on charges of organized retail theft at a Target store in Colma. The incident, detailed in a social media post by the Colma Police Department, unfolded last Saturday, November 22, around 3:24 PM when officers responded to a reported theft at 5001 Junipero Serra Boulevard.
According to the Colma Police Department, the suspect attempted to evade Target Loss Prevention Officers and resisted attempts to be detained. After officers arrived at the scene, they spotted her trying to leave the premises quickly and gave chase. They managed to detain her "without further incident" in the parking area after a brief foot pursuit.
The young suspect, a San Francisco resident, allegedly had $1,173.52 worth of goods in her possession. The accused has now found herself at the junction where youth collides with the law, facing serious allegations that include burglary and grand theft, in addition to obstructing and resisting an officer of the law.
