A 17-year-old boy's future was abruptly ended by gunfire within the confines of a Burger King in Chicago's Archer Heights neighborhood. The fatal incident occurred on Sunday night around 7:05 p.m. at the fast food restaurant located at 4060 S. Pulaski Rd, NBC Chicago reported. The Chicago Police Department provided details on the tragedy, describing how the assailant, driving a Jeep SUV, pulled up to the establishment and fired multiple shots at the teenager who was inside.
The attack proved fatal, as the young man sustained a gunshot wound to the head. Once taken to an area hospital, his death was confirmed. While initial reports did not reveal the victim's identity, with withholding of names being a common practice out of respect for family and ongoing investigations, CBS News Chicago later identified the teen as Rodrigo Franco. As of the latest updates, no arrests have been made, and the shooter remains at large.
Updates on the investigation will be disseminated as they become available.
