West Valley City Police have initiated an urgent search for Ayak Mout, a six-year-old girl reported kidnapped late Friday night. Officials are canvassing the area where she went missing near 3274 W. 3540 S in West Valley City, KUTV reports. Authorities issued an attempt-to-locate advisory after the child was allegedly taken around 10 p.m., based on the initial report provided to the police.
The investigation, which extended into the early hours, indicates that the father had left his daughter in a friend's care while he went to work. During this time, an individual identified as Ayak Ngor, reportedly the child's cousin, arrived and subsequently fled on foot with the child following an argument with a friend, according to KSL.
The police have released details of the child's last known appearance, detailing that she was last seen wearing a pink T-shirt and red pants, with her long black hair pulled back in a hair tie. The public is urged to look out for Ayak and report any sightings, as reported by Gephardt Daily.
