As West Palm Beach gears up for the Thanksgiving holiday, city officials have announced a brief hiatus in regular operations and services. In a release provided by the city's website, West Palm Beach City Hall, along with the Mandel Public Library, Grassy Waters Preserve Nature Center, and a host of other non-essential services, will be closed on Thursday, November 27, and Friday, November 28, to observe the festivities.

The adjustments also extend to waste management services. There will be no residential trash collection on Thanksgiving Day, while recycling and bulk/yard waste services will see a one-day delay. For commercial entities, similar postponements will apply. Normal operations will resume for residential services on Friday, yet bulk and yard waste, along with commercial services, will continue to experience a one-day lag.

As the city takes its brief pause, residents should take note of the altered schedules for various services. Post-Thanksgiving, those looking to drop by Grassy Waters Preserve can do so starting at 8 a.m. on Saturday, November 29, whereas the Mandel Public Library will welcome patrons at 9:30 a.m. City Hall will not reopen its doors until the following Monday, December 1, at 8 a.m.

Municipal authorities, inclusive of Mayor Keith A. James and the West Palm Beach City Commission, extended their well-wishes for a "happy and safe Thanksgiving holiday," according to their recent announcement.
