A tragic accident claimed the life of a woman on Interstate 15 near the Point of the Mountain when her passenger vehicle collided with a dump truck that was stopped on the highway's shoulder. The crash, which occurred at approximately 7:10 p.m., involved a dump truck hauling a flatbed trailer, as reported by KUTV.
Details from the Utah Highway Patrol, provided to KSL, indicate that the driver of the dump truck was unharmed; however, the impact was fatal for the female driver of the car. Sgt. Alexander said, "The driver of the dump truck did not sustain any injuries, but the female driver of the passenger car suffered fatal injuries," as per KSL.
The identity and age of the woman who perished in the accident have not been made public as authorities continue their investigation. The aftermath of the collision prompted the closure of the two right lanes of southbound I-15, a situation expected to persist for several hours, as mentioned by FOX 13.
