
Wright County has been rocked by a violent event at a local business, which resulted in the tragic death of a female employee. The Wright County Sheriff's Office reported that they received a 9-1-1 call early Tuesday morning from Advanced Process Technologies in Cokato. Upon arrival, deputies found the victim at her workstation, where lifesaving attempts by them and the Cokato Ambulance ultimately failed, and she was pronounced dead at the scene. According to the official statement, her death was the result of an assault inflicted by a male coworker.
In the aftermath, the suspect, identified as 40-year-old David Bruce Delong of Watkins, was taken into custody right on the scene. He reportedly did not resist arrest. As of their latest update, the Sheriff's Office has not commented on the motive behind the attack or the relationship between Delong and the deceased. Investigators are actively piecing together events that led to the fatal confrontation.
The Sheriff’s Office reiterated that its investigation remains ongoing and urged anyone with information pertinent to the case to come forward.
