YouTube personality Jack Doherty was arrested early yesterday on Miami Beach after allegedly obstructing traffic while recording a video. According to NBC Miami, Doherty, 22, entered the roadway to film content, prompting police to intervene for safety reasons.
Miami Beach Police instructed Doherty to leave the roadway, but he did not comply immediately. CBS News Miami reports that he told officers he would do so “once I’m done with this bet,” according to the arrest documents. He was taken into custody and charged with possession of amphetamine, possession of marijuana, and resisting an officer without violence.
A search conducted by officers found half of an orange oval pill marked 3, identified as a Schedule II amphetamine, along with three hand-rolled joints containing about 4 grams of cannabis.
Miami Beach Police stated in a press release that they will continue to enforce laws aimed at protecting public safety. Doherty, who has nearly 15 million subscribers online, was released on bond following the arrest.
