A tragic incident at Urban Air Adventure Park in Port St. Lucie took the life of a 6-year-old girl over the weekend, authorities said. According to the CBS12 News report, the Port St. Lucie Police Department responded just before 9 p.m. last Saturday to the adventure park located at 9020 S U.S. Hwy 1 following an incident involving a young girl.

The police informed that yesterday, the young girl had succumbed to her injuries. While the Port St. Lucie Police Department's investigation remains active and ongoing, with findings from the medical examiner still pending.

Offering additional details, TCPalm reported that the incident involved an electric go-kart. Officer Brittany Holly, a police spokesperson, explained that the child was struck by another go-kart while she was accompanied by an adult. Following the collision, she was transported to HCA Florida Lawnwood Hospital in Fort Pierce, where she died yesterday. The girl’s identity and place of residence have not been disclosed to the public.

"There is nothing at this time indicating the incident is anything other than an accident," Holly said. Attempts to reach out to Urban Air's Port St. Lucie location this morning were unsuccessful; the voice message left was not immediately returned. The park, known for hosting families and children for leisure activities, operates from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday, with additional hours on weekends as outlined on their website, as reported by TCPalm.
