An Itasca man, aged 75, has been charged with first-degree murder following a death investigation in unincorporated Harvard, according to the McHenry County Sheriff's Office. On December 13th, local authorities responded to a call for a well-being check at a residence where they found a deceased woman with a gunshot wound and an injured man who apparently suffered a self-inflicted gunshot injury.

The incident, which took place in the 4500 block of Island Road, drew a response from several agencies, the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office, McHenry County Conservation Police Department, and Harvard Fire Protection District attended the scene, found the scene where the man, identified as Silvano Perri, was then transported to the hospital because of his injuries after he was found with the injuries he then was booked into McHenry County Jail.

Charges against Perri include two counts of first-degree murder, with one count specifying the intent to cause death or great bodily harm and the other indicating a strong probability of causing death or great bodily harm. These charges reflect the serious nature of the offense, placing the suspect under severe legal scrutiny as the investigation continues bythe  McHenry County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division.
