The checkpoint, which took place last Friday, saw a grand total of 495 drivers screened, resulting in a handful of citations and arrests.
The Baldwin Park Police Department, through a post on their official Facebook page, shared the details of the operation, disclosing that seven unlicensed drivers were cited, one license-suspender had their night complicated, and only a single DUI arrest was made, along with four other misdemeanor arrests the proceedings also led to the storage of four vehicles. The enforcement exercise, to which the likes of Azusa PD, Monterey Park PD, San Marino PD, and Glendora PD lent their support, was not merely a local endeavor, for it had the financial backing of the Office of Traffic Safety, whose mission aligns with the purging of imperiled driving practices from our communal roads.
