Barry Manilow is postponing his January shows to have surgery after a cancerous spot was found on his lung. ABC News reports that the 82-year-old singer had six weeks of bronchitis followed by a five-week relapse before an MRI discovered the spot. Manilow said, “It's pure luck (and a great doctor) that it was found so early.”
Manilow said on social media that he will not need chemotherapy or radiation therapy. He added that his care plan includes “Just chicken soup and I Love Lucy reruns.” According to a statement obtained by News3LV, doctors will conduct additional tests to confirm the cancer has not spread. The surgery is scheduled for late December, and Manilow plans to take one month off to recover.
Barry Manilow has canceled his January 2026 concerts scheduled in Florida, North Carolina, and Ohio due to an upcoming surgery. He is set to return to the stage during Valentine’s weekend 2026 at the Westgate Las Vegas Resort and Casino, saying, “I’m counting the days until I return to my home away from home at the Westgate Las Vegas for our Valentines weekend concerts,” as per FOX5 Vegas. Rescheduled dates for the January shows have not been announced, and Manilow is expected to resume his tour on February 28, 2026, in Tampa, Florida, while he recovers and continues to share health reminders following his diagnosis.
