The City of Bloomington’s Jack Hopkins Social Services Committee is seeking residents with social services experience to join the committee. According to the City of Bloomington, members will help ensure city funds are effectively allocated to agencies serving the community’s most vulnerable areas.
The committee, made up of four Common Council members and three residents, will meet six times from January to June 2026 to set program guidelines, review grant applications, and recommend funding distributions.
Applicants should have experience in grant administration, philanthropy, or the nonprofit sector. This is an opportunity to help shape social services in Bloomington. Applications are due by January 7, 2026, and should be submitted through the Jack Hopkins Committee website.
Since 1993, the Jack Hopkins Social Services Fund has distributed nearly $7 million to Bloomington agencies. In 2026, $500,000 is available for allocation, reflecting the city’s ongoing commitment to supporting vulnerable residents and impactful social services.
