A Brockton man faces serious charges after an undercover sting operation by Auburn Police Detectives, who were monitoring advertisements for sexual services in the area. The sting, designed to combat human trafficking, led to the arrest of 28-year-old Dario Arron Hamlin-Baxter.

According to a social media post by the Auburn MA Police Department, the investigation began on Monday, when detectives responded to an ad for sexual services. The woman who posted the ad was identified prior to an arranged meeting with the police. Upon arriving at the location with Hamlin-Baxter, authorities detained the male suspect and isolated him from the female to pursue further investigation.

After the interviews and collecting evidence at the scene, Hamlin-Baxter was arrested and charged with trafficking a person for sexual servitude, possession of a Class B drug, and receiving a lost/stolen credit card. It was reported that on the following day, Hamlin-Baxter, who was already out on bail for unrelated charges, was arraigned at the Worcester District Court. His previous bail was revoked, and he is currently detained at the Worcester County House of Corrections.

The Auburn Police Department emphasized their commitment to preventing sex crimes and violence associated with illegal sexual activity. They strive to educate potential victims on human trafficking and hold perpetrators accountable. In the aftermath of the operation, the department provided a list of resources available for trafficking victims, signaling community support for those endangered by such exploitation. Among the resources were the National Human Trafficking Hotline, Lifepath Human Trafficking Program, and the Living in Freedom Together (LIFT) initiative, which offer confidential support and services.
