The Chicago Police Department has issued a community alert following a tragic hit-and-run incident in Morgan Park, which took place in the early hours of December 21. According to the official CPD report, two pedestrians were struck and killed by a grey Jeep Grand Cherokee, which then fled the scene. The fatal collision occurred on the 11700 block of S Marshfield Ave around 1:15 AM.
Authorities are still to definitively identify the driver involved in the collision. The vehicle in question, a grey Jeep Grand Cherokee with the Illinois passenger plate "FR19482", has since been recovered. The police are reaching out to the community to actively provide any information and tips to the Major Accident Investigation Unit.
