San Francisco police are asking for the public’s help to find 71-year-old Eileen Hway, who vanished last Friday in the city’s Chinatown neighborhood and has not been seen since. She was last spotted around 1:30 PM near Washington and Stockton streets and is believed to be on foot.
Hway is described as about 5 feet tall and weighing between 130 and 138 pounds, with gray hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing a burgundy jacket, a yellow knit cap and gray pants. Anyone who sees her or has information about where she might be is urged to call 911 right away.
According to a Bay City News Service dispatch republished by SFGATE, the California Highway Patrol issued a Silver Alert on behalf of San Francisco police and pushed Hway’s description out through social channels. The alert repeated the same physical and clothing details and noted that she may be traveling on foot in the area. The notice did not provide any additional medical information or updates on search efforts.

Per the California Highway Patrol, a Silver Alert is activated when an at-risk person who is 65 or older goes missing and law enforcement believes the person may be in danger. The program is designed to blast out identifying details quickly so the public can help bring the person home safely.
