A Christmas Day shooting on Decatur's west side left a 32-year-old Chicago man dead on West View Street, and police say the case is still very much open.
Coroner Confirms Identity
According to WICS NewsChannel 20, the Macon County Coroner on Monday identified the victim as 32-year-old Timothy G. King of Chicago. The station reports the shooting happened on Dec. 25 in the 900 block of West View Street, where King was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police Work Scene, Ask the Public for Help
The Decatur Tribune reports that officers were called to the 900 block of W. View Street at about 5:07 p.m. and found a 32-year-old man with at least one apparent gunshot wound. Detectives with the Criminal Investigations Division processed the scene, collected surveillance video, and interviewed witnesses, according to the paper. No arrests have been announced.
