Communities across Miami are getting into the holiday spirit, and District 2 is no different, with Commissioner Marleine Bastien spearheading the festivities this year. Scheduled for December 19, the Commissioner's "Holiday Toyland: District 2 Toy Giveaway" promises an evening filled with joy and giving at Oak Grove Park, inviting families to indulge in the holiday cheer from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., as per the county's announcement.
Geared towards providing joy to children of all ages, enjoying a movie truck, gaming bus, and hot cocoa station, families have an array of activities to choose from. To ensure every child gets a piece of the holiday magic, those present will be gifted a toy, promised until they run out and on a first-come, first-served basis. Ensuring that no lap shall go unoccupied, children will have the opportunity to capture the moment with Santa Claus in a photograph.
While the event is open to all residents of District 2, the invitation comes with one small string attached—a necessity to RSVP. Registration is simple and can be completed by calling (305) 694-2779 or emailing [email protected]. Interested participants are encouraged to respond early to secure a spot. According to the Miami-Dade County news release, the address for this year's Holiday Toyland is 690 NE 159th St.
