A fire at the Krystal fast food restaurant in Murfreesboro, initially thought to have the potential for significant damage, was swiftly contained thanks to the quick response of local firefighters last Friday. According to a WSMV report, the Murfreesboro Fire Rescue Department (MFRD) extinguished a kitchen fryer fire with no reports of injuries or structural damage to the building.
Upon arrival, the MFRD found moderate smoke issuing from the hood system vent, with subsequent action preventing it from escalating into a larger crisis. As recounted in MFRD's social media post, the fire was quickly extinguished, and the building was ventilated to disperse the smoke.
Information provided by WGNS Radio stated that a significant number of units responded, including Ladder 1, Ladder 2, Ladder 6, Engine 3, Engine 9, Engine 10, Rescue 1, Rescue 4, Safety 1, Safety 2, and both Battalion Chiefs. This coordinated effort by MFRD was instrumental in containing the fire briskly.
The Krystal on South Church Street was able to resume operation quickly after the incident, with the building suffering no lasting damage. "Their team is prepared for all hazards," the fire department stated, from the most innocuous kitchen blaze to the complexities of a larger community emergency, highlighted by WGNS Radio.
