
A pedestrian accident this morning turned fatal on Pacific Highway in the Morena neighborhood of San Diego. According to a press release from the San Diego Police Department, a 35-year-old man was struck by a vehicle while walking in the northbound lane. The incident, which was reported just before 4:00 AM, led to the pedestrian being transported to a local hospital, where he ultimately succumbed to his injuries.
The driver of the vehicle, a 30-year-old woman in a 2024 Honda Civic, swerved in an attempt to avoid hitting the man fully, but was unsuccessful. Upon swerving, she also collided with a Toyota Prius parked along the east curbline of Pacific Highway. The San Diego Police Department's Traffic Division is actively investigating the situation, but they have already determined that D.U.I. was not a contributing factor in the tragic event. Officer D. O'Brien, the Watch Commander, confirmed the details of the collision in the official statement.
