The FBI San Diego has announced a significant reward for information that could help solve a harrowing case of assault and armed robbery that jeopardized the safety of hikers near the U.S./Mexico International Border. According to a social media post from the FBI San Diego, they are offering up to $25,000 to anyone providing details leading to the identification, arrest, and conviction of the responsible parties.

It was a seemingly regular Wednesday morning on January 22, when the tranquility of nature was shattered as four hikers became victims to gunfire and theft within a stone's throw of international land, they were shot at robbed at gunpoint by two Hispanic male suspects the incident occurred around 10:37 AM, roughly 1000 feet from the border, one hiker was struck by the gunfire, sustaining non-lethal injuries during the incident. The attackers made off with the hikers' valuables, leaving behind a scene of chaos and fear," as per the information laid out on the FBI's official website.
The San Diego FBI office is heading the investigation and has been canvassing the area for clues; however, they are reaching out to the public for additional leads.
