The City of Fort Lauderdale has teamed up with FG Construction to carry out this work, which is set to kick off on Monday, December 15, 2025.
Residents should prepare for overnight disruptions at seven intersections from NW 7th Avenue to NW 22nd Avenue as the project stretches through Progresso Village, Historic Dorsey Riverbend, Home Beautiful Park, Durrs, and River Garden Sweeting Estates. According to information published by the City of Fort Lauderdale, construction activities are slated to conclude by the end of the month on December 31, 2025. However, delays could arise due to weather or other unexpected factors.
Traffic patterns will, naturally, be impacted. One lane in each direction will be closed during the work hours between 8 p.m. and 6 a.m. from Sunday to Thursday evenings. "Please follow posted signs and drive with caution in the area," reminds the City of Fort Lauderdale, noting that traffic control staff will be present to direct vehicles. To ensure the work zone is well-lit for safety, temporary lighting will be installed, with contractors set to minimize any potential light disturbance for nearby residents.
