Starting Monday, December 15, professional crews are scheduled to scrutinize the underground conduits and the work is anticipated to wrap up by February 27, 2026. Residents should expect this routine activity from Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., barring unforeseen hindrances like poor weather.
During these inspections, traffic flow may face temporary interruptions. The City of Fort Lauderdale announcement details that lane closures will occur on neighborhood streets while workers access underground pipes through manholes. Traffic professionals will be onsite to guide vehicles and ensure that driveway access is not obstructed. Motorists are advised to heed signs and navigate with care in the affected areas.
The City is taking proactive measures to communicate with residents, who will receive notifications at least three days in advance of pipeline inspections on their streets. To mitigate possible disruptions, residents are advised to keep toilet lids down and maintain water traps by pouring water down infrequently used drains. Additionally, removing the cleanout cap in the daylight hours and securing it at nighttime might help alleviate the complications posed by sewer main back pressure.
