Residents and visitors along the South Fork of Middle River in Fort Lauderdale can breathe a little easier today. The City of Fort Lauderdale has given the green light to water-based frolicking in a section of this waterway, delineated by Middle River Dr to the north, NE 22nd Terr to the south, Middle River Dr to the east, and NE 24th St to the west.
The precautionary advisory, issued on Tuesday, has been lifted. After a series of water tests, officials confirmed that water quality now meets state standards, allowing unrestricted river use.
