A Fort Lauderdale man has been taken into custody following a response from local police to a reported sexual offense. According to a release by the Fort Lauderdale Police Department, 46-year-old Horace Ross was arrested on charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and sexual battery on a victim aged 18 or over. WSVN reported that the arrest took place after a preliminary investigation at a home located near 15th Street and Northwest 8th Avenue.
Upon arriving at the 1500 block of Northwest Eighth Avenue last Friday morning, Fort Lauderdale Police encountered a victim who described the assault. Details of the victim's account are still under wraps, but shortly after hearing their story, officers located and apprehended Ross. As he exited the home, hands raised, 7News cameras were on the scene to capture the arrest. Ross is currently being held at the Broward County Main Jail, as evidencing by NBC Miami.
While both the nature of the assault and the identity of the victim remain confidential, what unfolds from this point hinges on a continued investigation.
