It's almost time to bid adieu to 2025, and the City of Fort Lauderdale is throwing a bash to usher in the New Year in style. The Fort Lauderdale Orange Bowl Downtown Countdown, slated for New Year's Eve, is a free street festival with American Idol winner Phillip Phillips headlining the musical performances. Packed with entertainment for both children and adults, the event promises a blend of live music and family-friendly activities, from bounce houses to contests, according to the official City of Fort Lauderdale website.
The celebration will begin at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, December 31, and continue until 1 a.m. in downtown areas along SW 2nd Street and SW 5th Avenue. The family-friendly event will feature games, dancing, and face painting, with a special early countdown planned for children. The night will conclude with the traditional lighted anchor drop at midnight.
The New Year’s Eve celebration is free to attend, offering an affordable option for families and individuals. City officials say the event is designed to be inclusive, with activities for all ages.
