Becoming a firearms instructor requires completing a demanding qualification process and demonstrating "judgement, safety, consistency, and the ability to coach others under pressure." This program ensures officers are fully prepared to guide the department’s future in firearm handling, as reported by the Germantown Police Department.
According to the Germantown Police Department on their Facebook page, Officers L. Sullivan, B. Gatlin, M. Provence, and A. Park have been named new firearms instructors. The department said, "Their performance reflects the very best of what it means to serve." These officers will provide training and guidance, and the department added, "Their leadership will help ensure that every Officer continues to meet the highest standards of safety and professionalism."
