As the legal aftermath of a failed Facebook Marketplace robbery continues to unfold, Sontarrius D. Williams has entered a plea of guilty to Armed Robbery. According to a statement from Peoria County, the January 2024 incident, which tragically resulted in the death of one assailant, has now seen the fourth defendant accepting responsibility for his actions.
With the exchange of a guilty plea, Williams faces up to 28 years imprisonment, reflecting the gravity of a robbery gone awry. His sentencing is scheduled for February 2026—an evening intended for commerce devolved into gunfire. On the fatal night, directed to an inconspicuous alley, the would-be buyers were met by Williams and his accomplices, who planned to rob them. Armed and unanticipated, one buyer's response left an assailant dead in self-defense, a scenario for which the court had not sought charges.
