After a fight over the weekend, Georgia Street Rhythm & Blues Lounge in downtown Indianapolis announced a new age restriction: guests under 30 are generally not allowed, except for special guests of the staff or marketing team, according to a Facebook post reported by WTHR.
The policy change follows a brawl near the club documented in a police report. Officers used pepper spray to disperse the fight and arrested a 40-year-old man on battery and disorderly conduct charges. An IMPD spokesperson noted that locations generating repeated disturbance calls strain law enforcement and pose safety risks. Georgia Street Rhythm & Blues had no comment.
FOX59/CBS4 reported that police have responded to the lounge multiple times over the past year, with seven incidents recorded between January 1 and December 21, 2025. Records show additional reports in previous years, though it is unclear if all were directly related to the club.
According to Local12 news, club management stated online, 'Do not contact us for any under-30 birthdays or special events… the answer will be no.' Exemptions are allowed only for those approved by the staff.
Guests under 30 may still enter with prior staff approval or if on a reserved guest list. The lounge says these measures support its 'grown and sexy' brand while addressing inappropriate behavior.
