The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency has announced a temporary closure of the boat ramp and access area at Iron Bridge Road on the Duck River in Maury County.
The closure will be in effect today only, with the ramp reopening to the public tomorrow. According to a statement from the TWRA, the temporary shutdown is intended to accommodate the Franklin Police Department, which has scheduled diving operations in the area for that day.
This brief interruption of access to the river is in service of the community's safety, one of the core responsibilities of the TWRA along with protecting and conserving the region's wildlife. The TWRA ensures that such closures are rare and usually for the benefit, whether it's for maintenance or, as in this case, to support local law enforcement efforts.
