Selected kids, nominated through the Eastern Oklahoma County Chiefs Association and vetted by school staff, represent those in need of some extra holiday cheer this season.
A chosen group of 134 children will meet their uniformed shopping buddies at the Choctaw Walmart's Garden Center to kick off the event. Each child will be accompanied by a police officer, firefighter, or first responder who will help them pick out gifts. In a bid to spread the joy of the season, the Jones Police Department extends its gratitude to a community characterized by its generosity and "Longhorn pride." During the event, there will be a noticeable presence of emergency vehicles in the area. However, there's no cause for alarm as the increased activity correlates directly with the event's operations.
