Legoland Resorts is on the hunt for a young space aficionado to take the maiden voyage on their new Galacticoaster, a highly anticipated addition to their Lego Galaxy themed area. As part of the search, a contest took place this past Saturday at the Miami Children’s Museum where children from South Florida were tasked with constructing their own Lego spacecraft. Julie Estrada, Director of Communications for Merlin Entertainments in North America, marked the occasion by highlighting the excitement and the start of a national tour, beginning in Miami. “We’ll be going to several different museums throughout Florida and California looking for a junior galaxy explorer. The winner of this competition will be the first to ride ‘Galacticoaster’ when it opens at Legoland Florida Resort on February 27th or at Legoland California on March 6th,” Estrada told WSVN. The winner is set to be the first to experience the new attraction at either Legoland Florida or Legoland California.
The competition is open to young builders aged 6-12, who are invited to creatively design and build a Lego spacecraft that could potentially stand out as the ticket to an early ride on the Galacticoaster. As announced on their Instagram page, Legoland Resorts is looking to quickly assemble their first ever Junior Galaxy Explorer team. Following the event in Miami, the search will continue over to the Museum of Discovery and Science in Fort Lauderdale on January 10, as part of a wider Florida and California museum tour.
