A catastrophic head-on collision claimed the life of a 40-year-old man on US-6 near Green River, Utah, according to the Utah Department of Public Safety. The incident, which transpired yesterday around 9:40 PM, involved a 2021 Freightliner semi and a 2020 Hyundai Palisade.
For reasons yet to be determined, the semi, traversing the westbound lanes, veered into the path of the eastbound Hyundai, subsequently pushing the latter vehicle to rest on the side of the road, as per the Utah Department of Public Safety. The Freightliner, after the initial impact, corrected its path and settled back in the westbound lane. The freighter driver emerged without injury.
An ongoing investigation is looking into the crash where impairment has, to date, not been suspected, the Utah Department of Public Safety reports. The wreck happened approximately 8 miles west of Green River, at mile 296 on the highway, an area known for its expansive landscapes and, all too often, scenes of vehicular misfortune.
