
A man was shot in the abdomen on Carpenter Avenue in the Olinville neighborhood of the Bronx late last night, according to AMNY. The NYPD responded to a 911 call at approximately 10:15 p.m. at 3800 Carpenter Ave, where they discovered a 34-year-old male victim with a gunshot wound to his lower abdomen.
The suspect, believed by the detectives to have perpetrated the shooting, was described as a man with a dark complexion, sporting an orange jacket; he was last seen fleeing the scene on foot. Wounded, the man was promptly rushed to Jacobi Hospital for treatment, and the injuries were reported to be non-life threatening by police sources.
As the investigation continues, authorities have not yet detained any suspects. Citizen footage captured at the incident site, shown on News 12 Bronx, depicted the victim being taken into an ambulance and later confirmed that his condition is stable and he is expected to recover.
As reported by AMNY, the 47th Precinct had documented 27 shootings year-to-date, which marks an increase from the 23 reported by the same time last year. Eyewitnesses or those with knowledge of the crime are being urged to come forward with information, being assured of confidentiality, and may contact Crime Stoppers to aid in the ongoing investigations.
