In an effort to bolster security measures during large-scale public events, the Memphis Police Department has launched a fully integrated Downtown Command Center. This technological advancement comes just in time for the St. Jude Marathon, a major city event drawing an estimated 22,000 runners to the streets of Memphis.
The social media announcement from Memphis Police Department, posted last Saturday, highlighted the department's readiness, stating, "Stretch. Lace up. Cameras rolling." The post also emphasized the collaboration between teams and technology to ensure the safety of participants and onlookers.
The announcement showcased the MPD's commitment to creating a #StrongerSaferMemphis. By promoting this initiative on social media, the department has not only affirmed their use of cutting-edge technology but also projected an image of preparedness and control that can reassure the community and participants alike.
