A Miami Gardens man was hospitalized after an incident involving electrocution while attempting to pick fruit outside his home last Saturday. The episode unfolded in an area near the 500 block of Northwest 189th Terrace, as reported by NBC Miami.

Miami-Dade Fire Rescue officials confirmed that the man encountered a powerline whilst harvesting fruit from a tree on his property. After the electrocution, he was airlifted to a local hospital, his condition serious enough to warrant a trauma alert designation. However, the details of his current status have yet to be shared by authorities. Further complicating the situation, his identity has been withheld from the public domain.

The local community expressed its concern over the accident. A neighbor, Veste Louis, reminiscing about the electrocuted man's long-standing presence in the community said, "Those people are great," as per a conversation with Local 10 News. "I’ve been there for 20 years, they been there before me and we never had any issues with anything. We come and help each other." Neighbors also shed light on the man's family life, noting that he has a wife, two children, and they have lived in their Miami Gardens home for decades.
