A man prohibited from possessing firearms was arrested after returning to a Minneapolis apartment building with a gun, as reported by the city's police department. The Minneapolis Police Department disclosed the incident on their Facebook page, detailing how the situation unfolded.
Initially, officers responded to a report of an unwanted person in the 800 block of 3rd Street South, encountering a man who was yelling and issuing threats. According to the department's post, the officers "stayed calm and professional as they removed him from the property." However, the individual later reappeared at the scene, this time armed with a bag containing a gun. Police acted swiftly to arrest the man, who, as a felon, was already barred from gun ownership.
In their social media update, the Minneapolis Police Department emphasized their commitment to public safety, citing the quick response and safe resolution of the incident. "We're proud of our officers for staying calm and doing what needed to be done to keep people safe," the post reads. "We see you, and we appreciate you!" This expression of appreciation was directed at the officers involved in the potentially volatile situation.
