Concern turned to relief as a 45-year-old Miramar man and his dog, who went missing yesterday, were found safe at a local Wawa the following day. Marvin Durham, last seen walking his pet on the 7200 block of Pembroke Road, was located at the convenience store on Douglas Road just before 6 a.m. today, according to WSVN.
The Miramar Police Department had enlisted the community's help via an Instagram post requesting assistance to locate the missing man and his canine companion. Their message emphasized the severity, stating, "MISSING ENDANGERED ADULT – PLEASE SHARE," which underscored the situation's urgency. The details provided included Durham's date of birth and the last known location, but did not specify his clothing, indicating a potential for heightened concern.
"If you have seen Marvin or have any information on his whereabouts, please contact Miramar PD immediately at 954-602-4000 or Detective Alexander Sanchez at 954-602-4252 / [email protected]," the police's public plea read, offering additional contact information for Detective Alexander Sanchez for any leads on the case. The community was urged to submit anonymous tips to Crime Stoppers if they preferred, according to the Instagram update.
The successful resolution came swiftly as Miramar PD later provided a succinct update, expressing gratitude towards everyone who contributed to the effort: "UPDATE: Mr. Durham and his dog were recovered safely this morning. Thanks for your help in sharing."
