A collision in Otay Border on Saturday afternoon has left a 23-year-old male moped rider with severe head injuries after an accident involving a Cadillac SUV. The crash occurred around 2:37 PM on the 2100 block of Britannia Boulevard. The department's Watch Commander, Officer J. Perales, detailed the events leading to the accident, according to the San Diego Police Department.
The incident involved a 45-year-old female driving a black 2018 Cadillac XTS SUV northbound and the young male on a black/gray moped. The woman attempted a right-hand turn into a driveway just as the moped was overtaking slower vehicles in the same lane. The male rider collided with the passenger side of the SUV, resulting in his injuries.
