
A tragic incident on Bell Road claimed the life of a young Nashville woman last Friday evening. According to a release from the Metro Nashville Police Department, the victim has been identified as 20-year-old Kira Phillips. As of now, efforts are being made to contact her family.
The collision occurred around 5:40 p.m. in the 600 block of Bell Road. A pedestrian, now known to be Phillips, was in the continuous left turn lane when she was struck by a driver in a northbound Nissan Versa making a left onto Rice Road. The impact sent her into another lane, where she was hit by a second vehicle, resulting in her death at the scene. The report stated that both drivers remained at the location following the accident and displayed no signs of impairment.
Police are continuing their investigation into the crash, but have not suggested any charges at this time. They have also made it clear that both drivers cooperated with the authorities, according to the details provided in the official website statement.
