A Nashville massage therapist has been charged with rape after an incident at Escape Day Spa & Salon. The therapist, identified as 37-year-old Julius J. Hamilton, allegedly committed the act during a massage session over the weekend. According to WSMV, irregular touching escalated to groping and then to sexual assault, which ceased when she "reacted negatively."
Hamilton initially denied the accusation, but after being informed by detectives about a forthcoming DNA test, he admitted to becoming "overzealous" upon seeing the woman's naked body, as per WKRN. The suspect is now held in Metro jail, with a bond set at $75,000, and faces charges of Rape by force or coercion.
His employers at Escape Day Spa & Salon, Tami and Jeff Hall, have responded to the incident, mentioning that Hamilton had been thoroughly vetted and properly licensed when hired, with a previous professional history devoid of such incidents. "We are deeply saddened and disturbed by a recent incident involving one of our massage therapists and a client," the Halls expressed in a statement obtained by WSMV. The Halls affirmed that Hamilton has been terminated and that they are cooperating with authorities.
