Authorities are piecing together the details of a burglary that struck the home of Tennessee Titans player Jeffery Simmons. The incident, which took place last night in the jurisdiction of the Midtown Hills Precinct, is under active investigation by Nashville police detectives, according to a report from the Metro Nashville Police Department (MNPD).
The break-in was captured on video surveillance and shows the property being invaded by at least six individuals around 7 p.m., after they smashed out window glass to gain entry. A variety of items were reported missing upon discovery of the crime. Simmons, who had been away, returned from San Francisco to the unsettling scene of his home burglarized and contacted police during the 1 a.m. hour.
A coordinated effort by various units within the MNPD's Investigative Services Bureau is currently ongoing in an attempt to solve the case. The full inventory of stolen possessions and their estimated value has not been disclosed at this time.
