Homicide detectives are rigorously following up on leads after a man was shot to death on Zermatt Avenue yesterday. The Nashville Police Department has circulated information about the ongoing investigation into the killing of 34-year-old Gavin Thompson, who was gunned down around 9:30 p.m. as he arrived at a local townhome complex.
Evidence suggests Thompson was confronted by two masked individuals. A struggle ensued as he tried to make his way back to his car, before the fatal shots were fired. Surveillance videos in the vicinity have captured the suspects making their escape in a black sedan. As per the report from the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department, the suspects were seen entering the rear seat of the vehicle.
To encourage public participation, the Nashville Police are asking anyone with information about the incident to come forward. Callers providing tips that lead to an arrest may be eligible for a cash reward of up to $5,000.
