The U.S. Department of Agriculture has announced a nationwide recall of more than 60,000 pounds of chicken due to allergy concerns. The recall involves misbranded, breaded chicken pieces containing undeclared soy, produced by Suzanna's Kitchen in Suwanee, Georgia. The issue was discovered on October 16, 2025, after the company realized some chicken with soy had been mistakenly labeled as a non-allergen product, according to PIX11.
The recall affects both consumers and businesses and involves 18-pound cases labeled “FULLY COOKED BREADED CHICKEN PORTIONS” with the case code P-1380 126237 B30851 23:11 K04 printed on the side. Each case contains four units, as per Z100. The packaging also features the USDA inspection mark and establishment number P-1380.
Although no adverse reactions have been reported, both the USDA and Suzanna's Kitchen emphasize the potential health risks for individuals with soy allergies. The incident highlights ongoing concerns about food safety and the importance of accurate labeling in preventing allergen-related hazards.
The FSIS advises anyone concerned about potential health effects to consult a healthcare provider. Restaurants and consumers are urged to discard any recalled products found in their freezers or refrigerators. For questions about the recall, customers can contact Suzanna’s Kitchen Customer Service Director, Dawn Duncan, at [email protected].
