Brooklyn’s Sunset Park neighborhood will soon have a new 1,000-capacity venue, managed by the team behind Public Records, a Gowanus-based club. The venue is part of the redevelopment of the MADE Bush Terminal, a waterfront complex overseen by the New York City Economic Development Corporation (NYCEDC). The site has previously been used for industries such as oil refining, shipping, and manufacturing.

The performance venue is expected to open in late 2026 and will operate under a new brand associated with Public Records. Waverly Neer, NYCEDC’s vice president of asset management, stated that the venue is planned to host large-scale ticketed events as well as community activities, including high school graduations and health screenings. According to Gothamist, Neer said the goal is to create a space that meets multiple community needs.

The arrangement between NYCEDC and Public Records is a 10-year management agreement rather than a traditional lease, establishing a long-term partnership. In a statement reported by Commercial Observer, Waverly Neer noted the organization’s commitment to the collaboration. Neer also described the venue’s features, including a capacity of over 1,000 people, triple-height ceilings, and views of New York Harbor and the Statue of Liberty.

The redevelopment of MADE Bush Terminal includes the new performance venue, six additional restored buildings, and a public park. While located near Industry City, another renovated waterfront complex, MADE Bush Terminal remains a city-owned property. As per Commercial Observer, Waverly Neer highlighted the project’s focus on supporting small businesses and manufacturers.
