Yesterday morning, tragedy struck when gunfire erupted in a South Nashville parking lot, resulting in one death and another injured individual, as per the WKRN report. The Metro Nashville Police Department (MNPD) responded to the scene of the violence outside an after-hours bar on the 400 block of Bell Road around 4 a.m., where two men, later identified as Angel Lucatero, 27, and Devon Hill, 26, were implicated in the incident.
Following the shootout, both Lucatero and Hill were taken into custody on Murfreesboro Pike and are facing charges for their alleged actions during the shooting, which included three counts of attempted murder. This information was confirmed by both FOX 17 and WSMV. In the melee, two victims were critically injured, and one—a 31-year-old man—succumbed to his wounds, the identity of the deceased remains undisclosed while officials seek out his next of kin for notification of the grim outcome.
The MNPD launched a thorough all-day investigation at the scene, where a white Kia believed to hold the deceased and a red Mustang were towed away as part of the evidentiary collection, according to WKRN. Surveillance footage aided detectives in identifying the suspects' getaway vehicle, which eventually led to the apprehension of Lucatero and Hill.
Lucatero and Hill have professed to have engaged in gunfire out of self-defense after the victim allegedly reached for his gun first. The homicide case remains under rigorous examination, "remains under investigation and will be staffed with the District Attorney’s Office" as cited by FOX 17. Both suspects are being held on $225,000 bonds while the investigation steers its course.
